A talented Blender artist Jesse Miettinen shared a sneak peek of a new addition to his versatile Damage Control toolset, described by the creator as "The Last of Us-like" tool. The WIP feature is an ivy generator, which, as seen in the video above, allows to add realistic vines with one click at the scene.

The Damage Control toolset is designed for creating realistic damage and destruction effects using Blender's Geometry Nodes. There are features for adding a destruction effect, scattering, grunge effects, dents, scratches, cracks, and other surface damage to 3D assets. The generator is accompanied by YouTube tutorial series to help artists get started.

Have a look at the toolset in action:

The artist also announced a first update to the generator coming already this month:

Earlier, Jesse Miettinen showed an impressive ground destruction demo, liquid visualization, smudge mask generator, a knot generator, and more. Check out more of the artist's works on his X/Twitter:

As for ivy generation, we’ve previously featured many tools for creating it. For instance, have a look at open-source procedural ivy and fig tree generator that works in browser, created by Chiro Visuals; the BagaIvy Blender add-on by Antoine Bagattini, and Tav Shande's procedural ivy generator for Unreal Engine:
