Regional PlayStation Store listings across 63 countries have revealed a staggered unlock schedule for Grand Theft Auto VI on PS5, according to Digital Foundry, with the spread between the first and last regions reaching 19 hours.
The data, sourced from GTA fan site GTAVice.net, shows 15 separate launch windows rolling out across November 18 and 19. Rockstar Games has not confirmed the times, and they remain subject to change.
New Zealand leads the global rollout, unlocking at midnight NZDT on November 19, or 11:00 UTC on November 18. Australia is close behind at midnight AEDT, which lands at 13:00 UTC on November 18.
For Australians, that means access well before the United States, where the game goes live at midnight Eastern Time, or 05:00 UTC on November 19.
The Regional Rollout Order
As VICE reported, the unlock sequence moves westward from the international date line. After New Zealand and Australia, Japan and South Korea follow at midnight JST/KST, then India, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom at midnight GMT.
Brazil and North America come later, with Mexico and Central America last at 06:00 UTC on November 19.
In the United States and Canada, midnight Eastern is the listed time. West Coast players get access at 9 PM PT on November 18. Mexico, Costa Rica, and several other Central American countries are last in the queue, a full 19 hours behind New Zealand.
Europe is comparatively straightforward. Notebookcheck reported that 19 European regions unlock simultaneously, reducing the confusion that sometimes accompanies staggered launches on that continent.
Xbox Has an Edge for Early Access
For players on Xbox, getting into the New Zealand window is relatively simple. Microsoft allows users to change their console region through system settings, which shifts the active storefront and its unlock timer.
Digital Foundry noted this has worked for other titles with staggered rollouts.
On PS5, it is considerably more involved. As Men's Journal reported, a PlayStation Network account is permanently tied to the country it was created in.
Accessing the New Zealand unlock requires a separate New Zealand PSN account and a copy of GTA 6 purchased through that region's store, which may also require a New Zealand payment method or local PlayStation Store credit.
Currency conversion could also make the New Zealand version more expensive.
Pre-Loading Opens 7 Days Before Launch
No early access period exists for either platform. Pre-loading for digital copies opens on November 12, a week ahead of the November 19 release date. Given predictions that GTA 6 could require 200 GB or more of storage, getting the download started early is worth doing.
Physical code-in-box copies are expected to begin shipping around the same date.
GTA 6 launches on PS5 on November 19, 2026. An Xbox release date has not been announced.
